  • Overview

    The Associate Merchandiser is responsible for sales and margin for a department or category. Translate and execute action plans to drive departmental financial and marketing objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Execute departmental and category specific action plans to achieve goals.
    • Achieve departmental and category specific “strategic view of the line” targets.
    • Responsible for product coding and ensuring historical/current SVL data is accurate.
    • Develop and define product needs for a department or category that align with division objectives.
    • Create, set-up and maintain seasonal MAP, TACT, assortment plans/CAPs, style/cc counts. Own item set-up and product profile.
    • Maintain all assortment plans for assigned department/category. 
    • Manage all photo and in-line samples. 
    • Run business reports, analyze data and make recommendations to improve performance. Ensure accurate and timely data entry and maintenance.
    • Aid in preparation for all milestone, monthly, and weekly meetings.
    • Analyze department/category selling data to inform future merchandising strategies.   
    • Analyze competition; style counts, color stories, pricing structure.  Compile and communicate findings and opportunities.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to quality, ensuring best product execution.
    • Direct procurement of product where applicable.

    Qualifications

    • 4 year degree in Retail Merchandising or related field.
    • 1-3 years related experience, preferably for a specialty retailer.
    • Understanding of key retail sales metrics and key merchandising requirements
    • Effectively present information both internally and externally in a professional and brand appropriate manner
    • Skilled at Word, Excel and a strong knowledge of spreadsheet functions
