    Contribute to the overall company performance by leading brand content strategies and the development and implementation of the Guide & Athlete Program.     

    Responsibilities

         

     

    Core Accountabilities:

    Strategy

    • Lead the development and implementation of the Guide and Athlete content and program strategies to internal and external partners that drive new active enthusiasts to the brand, including:
      • Future planning and develop cadence for the program.
      • Develop and manage a test and learn plan.
      • Manage the expedition selection process including criteria development, selection steps, and establishing brand goal alignment.
      • Establish ongoing evaluation of Guide and Athlete relationships through the development and execution of marketing programs (Awareness, Program Credibility, Product Development).
      • Partner with the Marketing team to establish an effective Guide and Athlete social media strategy.
      • Help create brand and product videos.
      • Help to develop in-store LCD content for display.
      • Manage coordinated Guide and Athlete content for all channels.
      • Provide consistent monthly updates to leadership.
    • Develop strategic plans that drive a connection and create meaning between the Guide and Athlete program and Eddie Bauer as a company including, its history, brand, and the Guides and Athletes we partner with.
      • Identify trends and opportunities for growth for the business and the program.
    • Support key partnerships, sponsorships and related endeavors that complement the brand and further the Guide/Athlete discussion. Focused efforts must be effective in reaching the Active Enthusiast while generating consumer excitement, strong social media and store traffic, and conversion to the Eddie Bauer brand, through celebrity trips, media trips and outreach, and media placements and partnerships
    • Take part in the active recruitment and ongoing management of the Guide/Athlete roster, including managing their ongoing relationships with the company and the strategic day-to-day expectations of the group.

    Field Execution and Production

    • Oversee Guide partner relationships and manage product distribution process with Guides and Athletes, fielding requests and inquiries.
    • Provide the team with guidance, structure, and tools to ensure successful experiences, including:
      • Manage and maintain contracts and adherence of requirements with each Guide and Athlete.
      • Manage administrative details of trips and experiences (payments, scheduling, travel and gear).
      • Manage expeditions, including developing criteria, planning and evaluations of success.
      • Ensure compliance with contract terms, including development of trackable KPIs to manage talent and ensure contract compliance.
      • Manage Guide grants and continued education opportunities.
      • Develop a communication platform for regular communication and updates for the Guides to the company.
      • Maintain calendar of activities and events that align to specific brand goals.
      • Develop and monitor brand team alignment and goals.
      • Conduct research and evaluate effectiveness of the program as a brand pillar.
      • Develop and execute strategy for regular gear outfitting, including allocation, business purpose, costs, and clarifications on expectations in return.
    • Track and analyze program performance, including:
      • Maintain a roster of Guide and Athlete evaluations for brand relevance, ROI, impact, and contribution.
      • Develop and own systems and processes that track Guide/Athlete team and the overall program process, including owning the dashboard and reporting tool.
      • Communicate program awareness, credibility and value to Eddie Bauer.
      • Make regular recommendations on improvements and changes.
      • Review social media posts and make recommendations to adjust content based on performance.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or communications
    • Field experience in content development and dissemination, marketing, PR or communications
    • 10+ years in marketing, content and/or Athlete management
    • Proven successful experience working in teams
    • Field production experience
    • Experience in sports marketing is preferred
    • Experience with professional athletics, guiding, or managing an influencer program
    • Experience in outdoor industry a plus
    • Strong sense of customer focus
    • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and creatively problem solve
    • Proactive self-starter that thrives in an environment of ambiguity
    • Excellent and proactive written and oral communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people and functions at all levels
    • Ability to travel to tradeshows and events including weekends and holidays
    • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Proficiency in reporting and analytics

    Physical Requirements:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.
    • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
    • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
    • Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.
    • Occasional Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel.

     

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position.  As an International Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume.  This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
