    The Optimization Specialist leads the design, implementation, and analysis of A/B and multivariate experiments for the Eddie Bauer digital business. This position will define learning objectives, KPIs, and supporting metrics based on business objectives and design direction. Addtionally, participate in the analytics implementation and data validation process for new campaigns.


    Core Accountabilities:

    • Observe and understand website user actions – what makes them leave landing pages, abandon shopping carts, and exit funnels.
    • Partner with UX and business partners on developing personalization and site optimization strategies to improve the user experience across all devices.
    • Monitor, document, and analyze performance of web experimentations to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for impactful content optimization and personalization.
    • Research issues and proactively propose solutions, with a focus on prioritizing issues that will drive the highest ROI for the business.
    • Works with development teams to create data layers on websites, and use tag management systems to get data from a website or app.
    • Adheres to web standards and accessibility guidelines and employs tools for building world-class online experiences.
    • Communicates with stakeholders on project requirements, activities and status.
    • This role requires broad knowledge of website and marketing technology and strong analytical skills. S/he must be a collaborative, open communicator skilled at a process-oriented approach to providing a consistent and reliable, user-centric web experience.
    • Assist in defining the vision and roadmap to advance Eddie Bauer’s online personalization efforts, centered on continuous advancements to our customer segmentation and message orchestration.
    • Partner with the content team to design and develop personalization journeys; lead implementation of these personalization strategies.
    • Collaborate with external agencies, front-end and back-end developers, web designers and project managers to ensure the team understands configuration and personalization processes.

    Education/ Experience Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related.
    • 3+ years’ experience working to deliver conversion testing and optimization.
    • Knowledge of web development, quality assurance, security, and UX best practices.
    • Experience with web experimentation, A/B and multivariate testing and/or marketing automation concepts, such SiteSpect, Adobe Target or Optimizely.
    • Knowledge of mobile first and responsive content strategies.
    • Knowledge of the stages of the user journey and/or lifecycle pathing.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.
    • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
    • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
    • Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.
    • Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel Required.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
    This is a full-time position.  As an International Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume.  This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
