  • Overview

    The Area Manager drives positive sales growth through the development of a high performance area team of up to 6 stores focused on achieving business objectives and providing a consistent, positive customer experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Driving area sales results by creating an environment of exceptional selling, service and brand presentation within
      each store
    • Attracting retaining, developing, and inspiring a customer focused,
      sales intense, area team; proactively building longterm
      succession plans at all levels
    • Setting clear performance expectations and providing straight-forward feedback that improves performance
    • Modeling and coaching sales leadership and the customer commitment behaviors: modeling behaviors that align with the Eddie Bauer Creed and Guarantee
    • Planning, supporting and executing company direction and initiatives
    • Holding store management accountable to set high expectations and clear accountability
    • Owning final accountability for all actions, decisions, and results of the area, partnering as appropriate with the District
      Director
    • Providing feedback to enhance organizational effectiveness
    • Developing, coaching and mentoring, Store Managers, Co-Managers, and Assistant Store Managers
    • Administering the performance management process, including annual reviews and appropriate corrective action to
      store managers, up to and including separation
    • Approving the work schedule for the store management teams within the area
    • Planning and controlling the area payroll budget to meeting budget
      expectations
    • Partnering with District and Regional leadership, Human Resources, and Loss Prevention on the investigation of sexual
      harassment, discrimination, loss prevention allegations and associate complaints
    • Ensuring all stores are in compliance to all Eddie Bauer Standard Operating Procedures

    Qualifications

    • 2-5 years of store management experience; specialty retail preferred
    • Proven track record of successful sales results and people development; focusing on developing high energy, high impact, sales floor leaders
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meeting the needs of the business, which will require weekend and evenings
    • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors or Associates degree preferred
