Overview

As part of Eddie Bauer's Financial Planning & Analysis team, the Financial Analyst will provide expertise in support of the company’s strategies and financial objectives. This includes the development of financial models, plans and forecasts, month-end variance reporting and analysis, recommendations on opportunities for improved profit and expense performance, and decision support analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and guiding Eddie Bauer leadership in the development of accurate and timely budgets, forecasts and long-range plans
  • Building strong cross-functional relationships to better influence decision making and course correction
  • Participating in the preparation of financial presentations for Board meetings, monthly performance reports and budget/forecast discussions
  • Proactively analyzing and evaluating the business; proposing opportunities for expense management and improvements; monitoring expenses to ensure company objectives are met
  • Coordinating the corporate department planning process and helping to ensure expenses align with expectations
  • Assessing and implementing process improvement opportunities in the financial planning cycle
  • Executing post game analysis for investments and test programs
  • Conducting on-going financial benchmarking against competitors
  • Creating new analysis and reporting as needed to shed light on significant financial issues that impact profitability; providing relevant recommendations

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience with the FP&A cycle; preferably in the retail industry
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance concepts, financial statements, and accounting principles
  • Practical experience building financial models in Excel; experience with Essbase a plus
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to summarize business results in a manner tailored to the audience
  • Highly collaborative with good leadership skills; able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration
