Purpose: Responsible for authentically translating the brand’s voice into industry-leading, customer-facing content for social media platforms. This role collaborates heavily with Creative and Marketing teams to ideate, produce, capture and share video, photography, social copy, gifs, short clips, streaming stories, etc. to increase brand awareness, engagement, followers and support marketing programs


Core Accountabilities:


Create and Post Authentic, Engaging, Trend-right, Platform-right and Brand Relevant Content

  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily or multiple times per day (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
  • Modify and edit existing visual assets or create original content for 3-4 Social Media Platforms for Eddie Bauer
  • Capture still and video assets in studio or in the field; activities, natural environment and product assortment reinforce the Eddie Bauer as an active outdoor brand (e.g. hiking, camping, fishing, etc.)
  • Build graphics, edit videos, and lay in select music; Stay current in digital editing styles, aspect ratios and trends and filters.
  • Write clean, clear copy with authentic brand voice
  • Manage all production and project administration for social content capture (e.g. budget creation, timelines, casting, release forms and booking travel arrangements)
  • Contribute to all aspects of social content development: idea generation, research, gathering input and buy in, and collaborating with Marketing, copywriters, the Guide, Athlete & Leader team, and other content marketing team members
  • Adapt content production, capture and strategy within digital formats and new technologies
  • Maintain quality control and responsibility for the integrity of the final content deliverable
  • Manage and prioritize workload to ensure editorial calendar and project milestones are met
  • Monitor competitive landscape to identify content trends, strategic initiatives, best practices, and new platforms and innovation in the Social Media space
  • Identify, adopt, and execute to current / viral social media trends – in the moment.
  • Serve as Ambassador for the brand when in the field; exhibits brand enthusiasm, situational awareness and humility when interacting with the outdoor community
  • Identify and provide recommendations for social content improvement
  • Onboard and implement direction and feedback
  • Partner with Marketing to establish presence on new social media platforms
  • 20-40% travel for content capture: coordinate and manage day-to-day logistics, capture and deliver assets 


Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, preferably in social media or marketing
  • 2-3 years of professional experience working with visual assets and copy for content
  • Passionate about branding, storytelling, and curating content; Uses and creates on social media platforms daily and an eagerness to explore and play with emerging platforms
  • Clear understanding of consumer behavior and trends in social content
  • Must have strong capture experience; Able to shoot and edit stills and video and be confident working independently on location
  • Works well with a team while also being able to multi-task, prioritize and work independently while in the office and out in the field
  • Actively lives an outdoor active lifestyle – hiking, camping, fishing, etc.
  • Exhibits exceptional decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills, as well as sound judgement.
  • A healthy respect for deadlines: the ability to prioritize progress over perfection and the drive to see projects through to completion
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. Additional apps such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office

  • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
  • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
  • Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.
  • Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel may be Required.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position.  As an International Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume.  This role operates both in a professional office environment using standard office equipment and working remote from home or in the field.
