Overview

The FTZ Administrator is responsible for the admission, inventory control and reconciliation, withdrawal, and payment of duties for all products admitted into and withdrawn from the Foreign Trade Zone.

 

 

Responsibilities

Core Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and submit all required weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual documentation and forms to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a timely manner maintaining all record keeping requirements for management of the FTZ
  • Prepare and submit all daily FTZ admissions (e214)
  • Initiate customs entries, export transactions, and zone-to-zone transfers for merchandise entering and leaving the zone. May interact with CBP if necessary.
  • Partner with the FTZ Manager to ensure the FTZ Procedures Manual is current and accurately reflects the operations and practices and are in compliance with government regulations. This includes the FTZ record keeping retention program for CBP review
  • Routinely update and report to the FTZ Manager concerning activities related to the Foreign Trade Zone
  • Prepare the FTZ Board Annual Report summarizing all zone activity and file with zone Grantee
  • Validate FTZ data against actual documentation as needed to ensure accuracy of integration and information. Conduct audits of transactions and processes and make recommendations on improvements

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Successful candidate should be an energetic, self-starter able to multitask with excellent oral and written communication
  • Candidates for this position should possess a working knowledge of inventory control systems, warehousing and logistics activities including knowledge of logistics/Customs terminology/US Tariff Schedule
  • Daily job duties require the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment
  • Experience administering a Foreign Trade Zone
  • Experience dealing directly with CBP on a regular basis
  • Must be highly detail oriented, able to prioritize and possess a service oriented attitude
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • In-depth experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Integration Point or other FTZ software experience preferred
  • Proficiency in the classification of apparel is a plus

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience with Import and Export systems and compliance programs
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics is preferred
