Development and execution of merchandise financial plans to achieve company financial targets and maximize business results through effective and timely Pre-season and In-season management of designated categories.


Core Accountabilities:

  • Execute seasonal financial plans for designated categories that meet or exceed company financial objectives for sales, margin, inventory, and bottom line profitability
  • Oversee and execute the quarterly sales and buy plan for designated categories
  • Develop and execute style level plans that meet division and department level financial goals.
  • Oversee, train and develop Planning Analysts in SKU management.
  • Manage in-season processes to maximize financial outcomes for the season, including repositioning of pricing and the Open to Buy (OTB) process
  • Oversee and execute monthly reforecasting at the style / color level – identify and make recommendations to address under or over stock positions
  • Oversee and execute promotional and clearance pricing to optimize results by business need
  • Prepare for and actively participate in seasonal business reviews and hindsight strategy meetings
  • Manage promotional pricing to optimize results by business need
  • Analyze current business, historical results and market trends to proactively identify risks, opportunities, and creative solutions to maximize business results
  • Build effective cross-functional relationships and skillfully navigate / influence business decisions
  • Recruit, develop, and retain Planning team to deliver exceptional results

Education/Experience Required:

  • 4 year college degree
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in a Merchandise Planning or related field, specialty retailer preferred

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.
  • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
  • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
  • Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. As an International Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
